Utopia

I wrote this a few weeks ago- it concerns my class “Urban Theory” if you want to know more, I give you the finest advice of MAMA — “Look it up!”

The concept of Urbanization is about making living conditions better. The fundamental problem when solving broadreaching issues like reducing crime and making people happier you have to deal with the fact that man is corrupt. In admitting this, it must be allowed that the problem cannot be solved by making a better city or by secluding yourself from society. The problem is personal and spiritual.

I could also present the example of the search for utopia all through the middle ages and the renaissance as an example of a failure of this quest of Urbanism– we could go on all night. The point is, man is still looking for utopia, he didn’t find it then and he won’t find it now — at least not with the methods he currently employs.

Thought For The Week

I want to clarify that there is no political problem that is not really a heart problem with hearts not connected to Christ. Only one Kingdom is really important, and this isn't it.

But just as it's sad to see poorly coded software, a badly built building, or an ugly city, it's even more sad to see a nation being thrown away. As custodians of this earth, we should do better.
